  1. Hemp in Nebraska
There's a plant that grows wild and looks just like marijuana, commonly known as 'ditchweed' to most people. People who support hemp say that this plant could boost Nebraska's economy. Bill Hawkins of the Nebraska Hemp Company looked through a bag of already processed plant material and said what he holds in his hands is 'an old crop with a bright future.'

  2. Hemp in Nebraska-More than Ditchweed?
Hemp is a wild weed that grows commonly in ditches that looks like marijuana. But it's cannabis sativa, commonly known as hemp. It's an ancient food, fiber and fuel plant that every civilization throughout the world has utilized. It is similar to marijuana but State Patrol says that it doesn't have the stronger chemicals in it to get people high off of it. “The stalk that we have here, the inner core is pure cellulose, and it's the fastest-growing cellulose there is, and that can be made into bioplastics, the whole plant for ethanol,” says Hawkins. He thinks that this weed can really help boost the economy. Soap, lotion, fiber for clothes, high-protein nutrition, even concrete. Hemp backers say the possibilities for industrial use seem endless.

  4. Can China Feed Its People?
Nanzhuand is in for a change. The government is going to destroy it before long and about 10 surrounding villages to build one of the world’s largest airports. Miles of fields of corn, wheat, radish, and cabbage is going to be replaced by runways and terminals, and railway lines and roads.

  5. Mama pig saved by 13 piglets
Emma showed up in Moorpark, California weak, underweight, and very pregnant. They thought that she wouldn't make it past giving birth to 6 piglets. She ended up have 17 piglets, but only 13 of them survived. Emma hit a fever of 108.3 degrees and she stopped producing milk, so John Chester, the owner of the pig, had to take away the piglets. They finally got her fever down, but she wouldn't eat and if she continued to not eat she would die. They gave Emma her piglets back and she soon started to show signs of healing. She was saved by her piglets because they gave her a reason to live.

  6. Drones May Transform Agriculture
Let me just share a few quotes about this article before I share my synopsis and opinion of it...

"Jimmy Underhill is a drone technician with Agribotix, a Colorado-based drone startup that sees farmers as its most promising market. Today he's training his fellow employees how to work the machine in the field."

""We really don't know what they're good for," Paul says. "We've got a few ideas of where they could really benefit agriculture. The majority of which are still theoretical."
Theoretical because commercial drone use is still widely banned in the U.S."

""These small drones, that are almost priced to be expensive toys, are not reliable, and that's a concern of the FAA," says Eric Frew, who studies drones at the University of Colorado-Boulder."

^^^Basically a company is trying to rip off some farmers into buying flying cameras to be able to see what's going on in the fields. (Even though farmers can see from their tractor seats... Weird.

  7. Lincoln, NE - Most Nebraskans probably know it best as ‘ditchweed,' the plant that grows wild and looks just like marijuana. But hemp advocates say it's not for getting high, though they believe it could boost Nebraska's economy to new heights.
