I think land judging didn't go very well. I felt I had a better understanding of it but I felt they made it challenging for us.. the slow permeability stood out to me the most. The one site had the barb wire fence so you could move to swing the slope so i wish that was different. I learned a lot about land judging this year and i felt i had a good understanding and was prepared for it until they through things at us that we didn't practice.
ReplyDeleteNothing to change really. Well we never practiced any slow sub soils so that kind of threw everyone for a loop. I thought that they were all moderately slows. The slows did mess up one land class because it was a two not a one. And I didn't know what a fine felt like and we never worked any of those.
ReplyDeleteI don't know that I would necessarily change anything, but the slow permeability really stuck out to me. That is a surprise I felt I was unprepared for. The textures all around I feel that I was not necessarily unprepared, I just don't understand how they got what they got on some of them. I feel I know how to land judge, there was just things they did we weren't fully prepared for.
ReplyDeleteI don't think that land judging went well for me person. I don't think you can change anything unless you want them to give you the answers. I think that they just made it difficult and I wasn't ready for it to be that hard. I know that I wasn't at all expecting slows for the texture. I don't think I was really prepared for the curve balls that they threw. I know how to land judge just wasn't expecting them to be so tricky, i guess you would say.
ReplyDeleteWhat stood out to you at Land Judging? - I think the thing that stood out most to me was the fact that there were so many slows. I dont know if it was because I wasn't prepared for that, or if it was because it was so unusual to me, having grown up in an area with predominantly moderates.
ReplyDeleteWhat changes would you like to see made? - I don't think any changes are necessary. Maybe just practice textures a little more.
Were there any surprises that you felt you weren't prepared for? - Yes, "don't mark 13 if you mark 16," surprised me.
Did you learn anything while preparing or participating in the competition. - I didn't learn anything I haven't learned before (while preparing) but at the competition I learned that turnips are a cover crop sometimes, and that you can't mark 13 when you mark 16, and that Trevin is a really good zombie actor.
I was sick soooooo.......... What they said ^ :D
ReplyDeleteThe fact that you weren't supposed to mark 13 if you marked 16 surprised me.
ReplyDeleteI did not feel prepared in the area of textures, and wish we would have worked on ALL of them more.
As for changes, I thought it went well, and have no changes.
I learned that i was walking on turnips, and not radishes.
