What is the Role of Production Agriculture in Your Local Community?
The majority of the community farms in Hampton, Nebraska. It is common for students to be late to school due to loading hogs, feeding cattle, or assisting others during harvest. Their production of agriculture benefits the local high school greatly. The producers within my community are active sponsors and donators for certain school activities. For example, for Hampton High School's FFA Chapter, local farmers volunteer to donate beef for our annual FFA Banquet. Their time and help is greatly appreciated by students, teachers, and other community members. Local agriculturalists play a big role in Hampton's annual Booster Days also. Booster Days consists of three days where the community gets together to play games, have a dance, and participate in the parade. Many farmers donate food during those days and sponsor certain events that take place. The role of agriculture in my local community is endless. Without the support of the agriculturalists within the community of Hampton, Hampton would just be a spot on the map. Many towns would melt into the cold ground if it wasn’t for agriculture working behind the scenes year-round to keep the community alive.
Production Agriculture has a big impact on our local community. If we didn't have production agriculture I don't think Hampton would be the community we are. Living in a small community in Nebraska we rely on our farmers for many different things. The money generated from production agriculture is put back into the community, we don't always realize how much agriculture helps the community. Farmers have helped the school with fiances, having a school helps our community if you loose your school you kind of loose your name. We are a little school but it helps our community with all the different kids that come here. It also helps keep the Coop now Central Valley Ag open and happy and keeps them willing to help us out, they help with some of our fundraisers and help provide things for our barbeque. The coop helps the community out because they help the farmers and they keep the farmers happy. Depending on the time of year also affect the community because depending on what the farmers are doing affects how much affect they can have. When the farmers our done with harvest you will see more activity in town. Without production agriculture we wouldn't be who we are, and we wouldn't be where we are. Farmers deserve more of a thank you than what they get most of the time. A lot of people look at farmers as bad because they are affecting the land, and farmers are constantly tearing out trees and changing the way the land lays. With all of the alterations that farmers make to the land it affects our hunting because it focused animals to move and change where they live.
Production Agriculture plays a huge role in the community. Many of the people living in Hampton are farmers. Hampton would be a completely different community if we did no have as much production agriculture. Many of the students in the school are related to agriculture in some aspect. We have students that help with hog production, cattle production, corn production, and wheat production. In school you often hear of kids running behind in the morning or missing school, they are out helping on the farm. Being a small community we rely a bunch of agriculture. We have farmers who donate food for our FFA banquet. Without the production and the farmers generous donation we would have to find someone else to supply us with that food. Our schools FFA chapter plays a big part in agriculture production. We have a numerous amount of kids show multiple different kids of crops at the County and State Fair. Almost every person that we have in our FFA chapter helps with the production of a crop in some way. It is normal for you to drive on a country road and run into a number of you classmates working on the farm that is located by you house. They get up odd hours in the morning to get in their tractor and go farm their crops for our benefit. I think without agriculture in our community there would not be very much of a community. We rely greatly on farming.
The role of agriculture has a big impact in our community of hampton there are many things around here that are supported by a farmer wether it has all to do with a farmer or not like the c-store many farmers come to the store every morning and sometimes in the evenings to get there coffee another place is the elevator across the hwy that takes all the grain from the farmer and sells it around the world with out farmers this place would have no use same with the chemical division it sells chemicals and fertilizer to the farmer to help the farmers crops grow to full potential but without the farmer this place to would be worthless. Another key store is the welding store where many farmers go everyday to have something fixed or get something that they need to fix something back at the farm like hydraulic hoses or just the many things that they need to be fixed and if they cant bring it to the shop they will come out and work on it on the farm.
Not sure why this didn't post on Friday, but I'll do it now I guess. My answer was pretty long and I don't remember what all I said, but I'll start over.
Agriculture, in Hampton, is exposed to us from the moment we first open our eyes. Whether we grow up on a farm, or live in town, we are constantly looking at the farms around us, and hearing our town's farmers talk about the weather and farming progress. Our school is widely exposed to agriculture and students gain unique opportunities to witness ag, because even at a young age they get to go on field trips to places like pumpkin patches, etc. Ag is a ever present vibe in Hampton. Students come to school in boots, because they're common. Windows of the classrooms overlook farms nearby. FFA members discuss current events related to Ag. All around agriculture is widely exposed to everyone in my community. 7 or 77, we've all breathed the air filled with pollen, and we've all driven down the highway and unconsciously admired the NE sunset behind the growing fields.Without production agriculture we wouldn't be who we are, and we wouldn't be where we are. Pretty much everybody in Hampton somehow works with Ag. Whether they're directly feeding cows, or selling steaks at the grocery store, it's all connected. Ag is everywhere. And we see it, a lot, in my community.
The Role of Production Agriculture plays a huge role in my community. Almost our entire high school is enrolled in an Ag class and in FFA. Most of us have either grown up on farms or had experiences involving them. There are many times throughout the year that students have missed or been late to school because they had to help with something on their farm. If our community wasn't agriculture based, it wouldn't be the community it is. Not many people realize it, but we rely on the farmers for food, supplies, and many other things. Everything we buy comes down to what farmers around the world produce. The farmers provide for the people around the world, that's exactly like how it is in Hampton, but on a smaller scale. The local farmers often sponsor activities and donate money to help the school and community. For example, every year we have Hampton Booster Days in June where the community comes together for basically good and fun. Farmers donate their time along with hamburgers for our FFA hamburger feed. There is also a dance and a steak feed. There would be no steak for the steak feed if it wasn't for these local farmers. Whenever we have fundraisers going on for our school, the local farmers are always willing to help out. They understand and support the school implementing the importance of agriculture in our daily lives. As you can see, the role of production agriculture is very important to the Hampton community, and if we didn't have that, we wouldn't be the community we are today.
