Winter is Coming Since Daylights savings time is over and it gets dark around 5:30, people should prepare for a cold winter approaching. This week is supposed to be especially cold to dress appropriately, listen to weather advisories, and be safe driving. Make sure that families and everything are prepared appropriately. Meterologists aren't expecting a whole lot of snow or anything, just frigid weather.
The seventh annual Nebraska Wind and Solar Conference and Exhibition held last week in La Vista, Nebraska enjoyed 375 attendees for the conference.Congress needs to extend that key policy enabling the wind energy industry to continue to grow, enhance rural economic development and create new good paying jobs.
Soybean Harvest Wrapping Up Farmers are behind the usual harvest time this year, but they're moving corn and soybeans into silos at an amazing rate. Tom Hoegemeyer, the professor of practice in the Department of Agronomy and Horticulture at the University of Nebraska said, "Our grandfathers and great-grandfathers, when they picked corn by hand in much smaller operations, didn't ever expect to get done before Thanksgiving." If they're done by Thanksgiving, it's a really good year.
Soybean Harvest Wrapping Up Farmers are moving corn and soybeans into silos at a good rate this year. If corn is picked by THansgiving it'll be a good year.
I read the winter article, Winter is Coming. I thought it was neat since in class we had talked about how we were all tired because of the time change. It was pretty much just a weather report, but it was still cool. Ha. Get it. Cool. Cold. Anyway, it's supposed to be cold, cold, cold. No snow is expected, but plan on wearing gloves or your hands might fall off. It's going to be cold, and it's going to get dark fast, just as you'd expect in Nebraska this time of year.
