Logan is a great supervisor and well respected by his coworkers. Several months ago, he hired Danielle. It was obvious he liked her as more than a colleague from the beginning. He was very flirtatious and gave her extra attention during training. He was always there to rescue her or make excuses when she made a mistake. Now they are a couple and growing increasingly more affectionate at work. They sometimes disappear at break time and no one knows where they are. Even though Danielle is the newest hire, Logan givers her the preferred work schedule, most desirable days off and preferential treatment. Logan has been distracted on the job and is making mistakes affecting his coworkers. His coworkers are getting annoyed, and morale is going down. They have asked Michaela, another co-worker, to talk to Logan because she is his friend. Michaela had a crush on Logan in the past and wonders if he would actually listen to her or just think she's jealous. What should Michaela do?
I think Michaela should talk to him. Just give it a shot. Maybe just be honest and say that the other co workers want me to talk to you just because we are a little closer of friends. She should say that they are all being treated unfairly while danielle is getting special treatment. If that doesn't work, then maybe they should go to the manager and let him or her be aware of the issue. Then maybe he can watch. That behavior in the workplace is very inappropriate so it should be stopped as soon as possible.
ReplyDeleteI don't think its fair they ask Michaela to talk to him, they should all have the guts to talk to him on their own and tell them how they feel. Logan would probably just think that she is jealous but if other employees talked to him as well then maybe he would see that there is a serious problem with what is going on at work.
ReplyDeleteI would speak to logan about his flirtatious problem with this women and tell him it is getting in the way of his work and I would say if he didn't fix it he would have to suffer the consequences or possibly fired.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a bunch of bologna to me. She should talk to him, and if he blows her off go to upper management or human resources. She should play it by ear, and see he listens to her or not. Doesn't hurt to try, right? If he's being irresponsible, maybe he needs to get fired so that he'll learn.
ReplyDeleteI think that Michaela should try to talk to him. It doesn't hurt to try. If he doesn't listen to her than I guess she tired, but it didn't work. If he thinks that she is jealous he should get life. I think that it is a serious problem. He shouldn't be treating her better than everybody else and she just started there. Yeah he needs to listen to everybody and try to make everybody happy, but he shouldn't give her the days she wants off because they are thing. He needs to treat everyone right and maybe Michaela can get that across to him.
ReplyDeleteShe should talk to him. If he thinks she is jealous then he's really full of himself. If he doesn't see the error in his ways then she should go to higher management. They would probably talk to him about it or fire him. You can't be unfair like that to other employees.
ReplyDeleteMichaela should talk to him. It doesn't hurt to at least try if what he is doing is affecting her and other co-workers. It's especially not fair if they have worked there longer and deserve more benefits but Danielle is the one getting them because she is in a relationship with Logan. That's not very professional of him. If Logan refuses to listen to Michaela she should take it to higher authority to try and get the problem fixed.
ReplyDeleteMichaela should just step up and talk to him. She should at least try, it won't hurt anything. If he doesn't see what he's doing wrong then she should go to higher authorities. You need to be professional and fair.
